An imposing building located in the heart of the delightful village of Norton, The Laurels is conveniently situated for all local amenities. The post office, village hall, the shops and two pubs are all within a flat walk of 200 yards. It is also ideally placed for major bus routes and for motorway networks.

From the welcoming conservatory reception to the restaurant style dining rooms and well-appointed single private rooms, our 50 residents are cared for in a happy and relaxed atmosphere by carefully trained and experienced staff who are devoted to their welfare and happiness.

The Laurels is owned and supervised by the Swales family who, supported by their dedicated and accomplished Care Managers, offer that important personal touch to all residents. The Home offers residential and nursing care, with both privately and publicly funded residents catered for on a long or short term basis.

We pride ourselves on being an extension to the residents' families, offering support and advice as required. Many of the outings and entertainments are designed to be enjoyed with family or friends and a guest room offers the option of staying overnight. Residents will find in our staff a genuine kindness and sense of fun and there is much happiness and laughter amidst the peace and comfort of the Home.

On the nursing side, all 20 rooms have en-suite facilities, all are on the ground floor and 18 out of the 20 benefit from glazed patio doors. On the residential side, 29 of the 30 bedrooms have en-suite facilities. We always encourage residents to personalise their rooms with small items of furniture, photographs and ornaments.

Our philosophy at The Laurels is to create a 'home-from-home' environment where our ladies and gentlemen are afforded utmost privacy, dignity and independence, whilst providing for their emotional and physical needs. Individual care plans are constantly discussed, evaluating the specific requirements of each resident.

Our reputation for the quality of nursing and residential care is now well recognised. This has been achieved by a comprehensive induction and in-house training programme supported by our own in-house trainers or via Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council local authority . Our staff are dedicated, willing and eager to learn new skills with many having obtained national vocational qualifications.
